The Idran system was a star system, a trinary star in the space of Idran sector in the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant. (DS9 episode: "Emissary")
History and specifics
The Idran system's primary was an F class supergiant star. The two secondary stars were O class stars, at least one of which was a dwarf. Orbiting the stars were eight planets and an asteroid field. History
Fifty millenia prior to the 24th century the system contained the Gamma Quadrant terminus to the Bajoran wormhole and was home to a species called the Eav'oq who like the Alpha Quadrant Bajorans worshiped the inhabitants of the wormhole, though in quite a different way to their Alpha Quadrant brethren. Around that time the Eav'oq went into hiding in subspace to evade the genocidal Ascendants. The Idran system remained uninhabited for the next fifty thousands years and drifted three light-years away from the wormhole. (DS9 novel: Rising Son)
In 2369, Benjamin Sisko and Jadzia Dax identified Idran, having just entered the Gamma Quadrant through the Bajoran wormhole. (DS9 episode: "Emissary")
Major Kira Nerys once took a runabout into an asteroid field in the Idran system, in pursuit of a Redemptionists' ship who attempted to sabotage Deep Space 9. Having evaded the asteroids, Kira managed to knock down the shields of the fleeing vessel and its occupants were beamed aboard. (DS9 video game: Crossroads of Time)
In 2376 Jake Sisko, Opaka Sulan and their companions activated a mechanism on the Eav'oq's planet which brought the species back into normal space. At the same time the system relocated back to it's previous position at the Gamma Quadrant terminus of the Bajoran wormhole. (DS9 novel: Rising Son)
