Golanga was a popular soccer player in the 24th century. However, he injured his knee in a game in 2366 and had to receive a bio-implant replacement, which significantly impacted his play.
Vinod was a fan of Golanga and asked Commander Benjamin Sisko about him in 2370. Sisko claimed that "he wasn't the same" after the operation. (DS9 episode: "Paradise")
