Elya was a 23rd century Oordon native woman.
In 2266, Elya was exposed to de-aging radiation released by an earthquake. 193 days later, she had been reduced to the apparent age of a young teenager. She cared for a group of inhabitants in a city nursery. She helped explain their circumstances to a landing party from the Federation starship USS Enterprise.
After the source of the radiation had been buried, Leonard McCoy offered Elya an antidote that would restore her and the other children to their proper ages, but she preferred that the survivors grow back to adulthood naturally, giving them more time to restore their civilization.
