The Barolians were a humanoid civilization in contact with the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire in the 24th century.
Biology
They had loose, gray skin, blue eyes set into their skulls, and noses that spread from ear to corkscrewed ear. Barolians seemed to look alike to other species. They also had deep, booming voices. (TNG novel: Death in Winter)
History
In 2244, Saavik used a Barolian ship to enter Romulan space. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Heart)
In the year 2364, Senator Pardek attended a Barolian trade conference. (TNG episode: "Unification")
In 2368, a Barolian freighter was used to transport stolen goods for the Romulans. (TNG episode: "Unification")
First splinter timeline
In 2379, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, "Pug" Joseph, Carter Greyhorse, and Decalon were disguised as Barolians when they infiltrated Kevratas. Aside from their size differences one would have not been able to tell them apart from each other. They used voice altering devices implanted in their necks to make them sound like Barolians. (TNG novel: Death in Winter)
Presumably, the Barolian population was wiped out by the Borg when Barolia was cleansed of all life in 2381. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum)
