Sand runner

A sand runner was a type of land bike designed for high-speed travel on sand.

Sand runners were used on Q'mau during the 32nd century. They were equipped with deflector shields.

In 3191, Moll and L'ak rode sand runners to the landing site of their cloaked starship. They were pursued by Captains Michael Burnham and Rayner, and former courier Cleveland Booker, also on sand runners. The two of them reached their starship before they could catch them and caused an avalanche with their ship's photon torpedoes that threatened the settlement, giving them time to escape from their Starfleet pursuers.
