A Starfleet report described first contact with the planet as "a little tricky."
In 2380, Starfleet dispatched the USS Cerritos, under the temporary command of Captain Amina Ramsey, to repair the waste pipe of a water filtration system on Khwopa. (LD: "Much Ado About Boimler")
In 2382 of an alternate universe, the Anaximander and the USS Beagle were forced to land on Khwopa for repairs. The crews of the two vessels were imprisoned by the Khwopians, who were hostile in this reality. The alternate Beckett Mariner serving on the Anaximander revealed that she was familiar with the planet and the inhabitants from her own reality. (LD: "Fissure Quest")
