Lieutenant Jamila Amin was a 23rd century female Human Federation Starfleet officer who served aboard the USS Enterprise in the late 2250s under Captain Christopher Pike. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow")
Starfleet career
At some point during her life, Amin enlisted in Starfleet and by 2253 was assigned to the USS Enterprise as a lieutenant in the operations division.
She was tasked with rappelling from Deck 9 to Turbolift 6 to rescue the trapped Ensign Spock, the Enterprise's newest science officer, and First Officer Lieutenant Commander Una Chin-Riley. (ST: "Q&A")
By 2258, she had transferred to the command division and was appointed the navigator on the Enterprise, where she took part in the Battle near Xahea. After the Section 31 drone ships were left dead in the water, she quickly used the Enterprise's phasers to finish them off. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow", "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2")
By 2259, she had been replaced as navigator on the Enterprise by Jenna Mitchell. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds")

According to a demo video prepared for the court clerk's screen in the episode "Ad Astra per Aspera", Amin's first name was Jamila. She was recognized as the former records officer of the Enterprise.
