Wind Soul (ウインドソウル Uindo Souru) is the Double Soul MegaMan.EXE performs with WindMan.EXE by sacrificing a Wind-type Battle Chip. It only appears in Mega Man Battle Network 4: Red Sun.
Abilities
- North Wind (スーパーキタカゼ Sūpā Kitakaze, Super Kitakaze, lit. "Super North Wind"): After performing the Double Soul, all Barriers and Auras are removed.
- Air Shoes (エアシューズ Ea Shūzu): MegaMan can stand on holes.
- Float Shoes (フロートシューズ Furōto Shūzu): MegaMan is immune to harmful effects of panels.
- While Wind Soul is in effect, the enemy will be attracted to the front row by a Fan-like effect.
- All wind-elemental chips gain an Attack +10 bonus, which is best used with the multi-hitting Tornado chip.
- Regular Mega Buster shots are transformed into a 5 damage Air Shot, which can interrupt enemy attacks and knock obstacles around.
- Charge Shot: Wind Racket (フウジンラケット Fuujin Raketto, Fujin Racket) (a racket in a WideSword-like range of 50 damage that knocks the enemy to the back columns)
- Weakness: The Mega Buster loses its rapid-fire ability, and the Air Shot has a slightly long delay time. Also, all strategies of panel-breaking to avoid damage is now useless. And the Fan effect can make some Battle Chips miss, especially ones with locked effect.
- Bosses to use against:
- ColdMan.EXE - Use the Air Shot Buster to knock his Ice Cubes into him, which will inflict 150 damage per cube. This also prevents him from pushing them to damage you.
Competitive Play
- Wind Soul is a powerful albeit limited on options Double Soul that has very strong abilities. It does not possess a 2x Chip Charge ability, but compensates with very powerful field effects.
- The constant Fan effect pulling in the opponent will massively impact the opponent. It forces them to constantly reposition themselves as they try to avoid Wind Soul's Wind Racket charge or other close range attacks.
- Compared to NorthWind, Wind Soul's ability is a more flexible and keeps Chip options open. It is a powerful counter to the popular usage of LifeAura and Barrier200 Chips.
- Air Shoes and Float Shoes are good on-command abilities to access if MegaMan is ever caught in a panel lock situation such as against Geddon or pre-set permanent holes.
