The Transer (トランサー Toransā), also known as Wave Transer (ウェーブトランサー), is a mobile terminal [1] that appears in Mega Man Star Force as an evolution of the PErsonal Terminal from the Mega Man Battle Network series. Most people wear their Transers on their arms. The Transer is succeeded by the Star Carrier in Mega Man Star Force 2.
In the anime, the Wave Scanner is used an alternative to the Transer by some characters. Geo switches to the Wave Scanner after his Transer breaks.
General Functions
Transers carry many of the functions that their predecessors did, such as sending emails, acting as a cellular phone, although they can only connect to those in the same Satellite [2]. Transers can also aid in the deletion of viruses, being able to directly attack EM Viruses through the use of Battle Cards.
Each person's Transer and its colors scheme are assigned to 1 of the 3 Satellites in other space: Pegasus (blue), Leo (red), and Dragon (green). However there's exceptions like Legendary Master Shin's white Transer marked with a S, where he's not aligned to any Satellite [3]. The Wave Transer toy also has a variation with Geo's Star Force symbol, along with a darker shade of blue that matches Mega Man's.
Card Force
The Card Force System (カードフォースシステム) [4] will allow its user to do a number of tasks through the Transer, including driving cars (even if they're underaged) and turning on the TV [5]. Inserting a Card Force will change the upper display, presenting the Transer's current function. There are a number of Card Forces with different effects.
Personal Card
The Personal Card (パーソナルカード) will access the Personal menu. On there the user can assign their own profile picture, their 6 favorite Battle Cards, a welcoming message, and a secret that is only viewable by their Brothers. Used in the Wave Transer toy as Status Mode.
Brother Card
The Brother Card (ブラザーカード) will access the Brother menu. The Transer allows users to form bonds through the Brother Band System, which allows people to become Brothers and strengthen their friendship. Additionally, those bonds will add a Brother Force card in the folder, as well as giving Mega Man extra abilities and stat boosts. This is called Brotherband Card (ブラザーバンドカード) in the Wave Transer toy as Transmission Mode.
A Navi Card (ナビカード) will access NetNavis that specializes in certain expertise. By inserting a Navi Card, the Navi can perform a task in the Wave World for it's user. A distinct difference with older terminals is the ease of swapping between multiple Navis in a short period. The Navi that is present on the Transer's upper display means it's the one currently active.

- Access Card (アクセスカード): Seen in official art and the Wave Transer toy, used to go into Battle Mode. [6]
- Signal Card (シグナルカード): Seen in the Wave Transer toy, used to go into VS Battle Mode.
EM Wave Change
Transers also aid in the process of EM Wave Change. Though they do not function much while wave changed, a Transer or similar device can be used to initiate a wave change.
In the game, Geo uses a blank Card Force infused with Omega-Xis' energy to to initiate the transformation. It also appears to create a Card Force with "Mega" on it, Warrock (ウォーロック) in Japan, where Omega-Xis and Mega Man's status can be seen.
In the anime, he merely holds on then raises the Transer and calls his transformation quote. Also, during an EM Wave Change, Transers prohibit the use of Battle Cards almost completely because they do not carry over as part of the EM Being formed. This normally restricts EM Beings to their natural abilities, however Mega Man is able to continue to fight with Battle Cards through the use of Omega-Xis' Predation ability.
