Moon

MM4CossackStage4

The Moon is a natural satellite orbiting the Earth that appeared in the Mega Man franchise.

Game appearances

The Moon has minor appearances in the series as part of scenes and backgrounds, where it is visible in the night sky. It first appeared in Mega Man 4, being visible in the fourth Cossack Stage and in the ending.

In the 22nd century, humans and Reploids gained the technology to colonize the Moon and build settlements for humans to safely live on. The seemingly never-ending Maverick Wars had encouraged many human beings to migrate to the Moon and live there in peace by using the Jakob Orbital Elevator. Many New Generation Reploids were present on the Moon's surface to help fulfill this massive humanitarian effort.[1]

Although human migration was successful, the Reploid in charge of the project Lumine was secretly a Maverick and in league with Sigma to build a new world of Reploid dominance over all humanity. At some unknown point, Sigma and his henchmen constructed a new palace for him on the Moon where he would reign as Ruler of the new world.

Once again, Sigma's plan came to naught and he was slain by the Maverick Hunters. Lumine revealed himself after Sigma's demise and exposed his treachery by battling the Hunters. Lumine was then killed by the Hunters as well after a fierce battle.
