Mad Joey

Mad Joey (マッド・ジョーイ Maddo Jōi)^[1] is the pilot of the REX-2000 in Mega Man X3. He is a cyclopean Reploid that resembles a purple Rideroid G without spiked ears.

History

Mega Man X3

Mad Joey pilots the REX-2000 as the sub-boss of Doppler Stage A, in a room where a machine slowly drops a spiked ceiling to crush the player. If the player takes too long to defeat the REX-2000, the ceiling may fall so low that it kills Mad Joey, leaving the armor inoperable until it is destroyed by the ceiling too.

Mega Man X DiVE

Mad Joeys, alongside Guardroids, appear as the base Reploid enemies in Mega Man X DiVE, wielding a variety of weapons. There are many design variants of Mad Joey, appearing with different outfits in some events:

	Old Castle Halloween Scare Challenge The mysterious master of the Nocturnal Castle	Mummy Armored Soldier (ミイラソルジャー / 木乃伊裝甲兵, Mummy Armored Soldier) is a Halloween-themed Mad Joey with Gas Emitter (2020) and Biochemical Buster (2021), which shoots a poisonous shell of Bubble Bomber. They also show up using a Gatling Gun.
	Merry Christmas!	Christmas themed Mad Joey with Snowy Spray Gun.
	Auspicious Dream of the New Year	Japanese New Year themed Mad Joey with a Burning Spray Gun that shoots fire ball projectiles.
	Auspicious Dream of the New Year	Japanese New Year themed Mad Joey with a modified Military Buster that fires dark cloud projectiles.
	Colonel's Valentine Challenge	Valentine's Day Mad Joey with Standard Saber or Wind Pressure Buster. This version is a fan of Ciel, having images of Valentines Day Ciel on his clothes.
	Colonel's Valentine Challenge	Valentine's Day Mad Joey with Gatling Gun. A minor variation appears in June Bride event.
	Colonel's Valentine Challenge	Valentine's Day Mad Joey with Wind Pressure Buster.
	Colonel's Valentine Challenge	Valentine's Day Mad Joey that is a fan of Ferham, having Christmas Ferham on his shirt. Uses Light Wave Cannon. A minor variation appears in June Bride event.
	Colonel's Valentine Challenge	Valentine's Day Mad Joey with Standard Saber. This version is a fan of Iris, having images of Valentines Day Iris on his clothes.
	ViA's Deep Log Training Pulsing Force of Destruction	A variation of Mad Joey created by ViA. Uses Essence of the Abyss.
	Burning Bride of June	June Bride themed Mad Joey with Demon Blade Muramasa. They also show up using a Gatling Gun, a Snowy Spray Gun or a Light Wave Cannon.
	Fist of the Raging Demon	A Shoto themed Mad Joey with Standard Saber. Sometimes it will unequip the weapon and fire a Hadoken.
	Fist of the Raging Demon	A Shoto themed Mad Joey with Gatling Gun. Sometimes it will unequip the weapon and fire a Shakunetsu Hadoken that can burn the Player.
	Idol! Music! Valentine's Day!	A Mad Joey with Poisonous Cloud Spray Gun.
	Attack of the Thugs	A delinquent Mad Joey with Extraordinary Mortar.
