Season Seven of Medium Premiered September 24, 2010 on CBS and ended January 21, 2011. Season seven is the last season of the series to air on CBS, due to severe ratings erosion after it's premiere. CBS had originally ordered a full season (22 episodes), but because of this season's poor performance, cut the order down to 13. CBS assured that despite the cut, the series was in no danger of being cancelled.
On November 15th, 2010, Patricia Arquette confirmed that the show "got cancelled" and had a remainder of two episodes left to shoot. Glenn Gordon Caron later confirmed her statement via posting on CBS' official facebook and CBS' Medium forums stating that the series finale would air January 21st, 2011.[1] The DVD release of Medium: The Final Season was released on DVD June 21, 2011.
