Medarot 4 (メダロット4) is the fourth game from the Medarot RPG series, released for Game Boy Color on March 23, 2001 in Japan in two versions, Kabuto and Kuwagata. Like its precursors, it was developed by Natsume and published by Imagineer. The game was also released as part of Medarot Classics and Medarot Classics Plus. This is the last game to feature Ikki Tenryou as the main character.
To contrast the more serious story from the previous game, Medarot 4 was given a more lighthearted story, focusing on friendship. But as the writter Hirano also wanted to test the limit of what Nintendo was willing to allow on a game from their systems, Medarot 4 also has many controvertial topics.[1]
Plot
Ikki has been quite active in many ways. However, every day he was worried if he "really understood Medarots", and began to be interested in knowing the existence of a title given only to true Medarotters called "Medamaster", starting a new adventure to obtain the title while having trouble with a newly appointed teacher.
Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to its predecessor, but with the addition of a friendship system that affects the Success values of Medarots in Robattles. The game also included new Medarots and minigames. Having over 250 Medarots, it was the game with the largest amount of Medarots available until the release of Medarot 9.
