Jim Fritzell (February 19, 1920 - March 9, 1979) co-wrote, with Everett Greenbaum, 29 episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and one episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.. He also wrote episodes of the TV series "Mister Peepers" (receiving one Emmy nomination), "Make Room for Daddy", "The Real McCoys", "The New Andy Griffith Show", "The Odd Couple", "Love American Style", "Sanford and Son", "The Doris Day Show" and "M*A*S*H". He wrote the screenplays for the Jack Lemmon film Good Neighbor Sam, the Don Knotts films The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Reluctant Astronaut and The Shakiest Gun in the West, and the Andy Griffith film Angel in My Pocket.
