Valley of the Sun

The Valley of the Sun was a lush jungle habitat surrounded by steep, mist-encircled slopes, where Rotath of Lemuria led the civilized hillmen tribes to a towered city. Captured by the rebel raiders, Conan was brought here with Juma the Black and Princess Yolinda, who was destined to become Rotath's bride and mother of his gold-skinned son, in order for him to claim the throne of Turan. Conan and Juma were enslaved and sent to mine for gold in the valley's deep caverns. After mining for gold for several days, Conan and Juma decided to escape. When a gigantic slug monster raided the cavern and began attacking the guards, Conan and Juma grabbed two bags of gold and ran down the mine shaft. They reached the surface, but the slug continued to chase them, as it was attracted by gold. Rotath appeared in the central square, and the slug was distracted by the sorcerer's golden flesh. While the slug ate Rotath, Conan rescued Princess Yolinda and rode off with Juma.^[1]
