Uruk was an ancient Mesopotamian city in what is now modern-day Iraq.
History
Around 2700 BC,[1] the Eternal Gilgamesh was king of Uruk when it was part of the Sumerian civilization.[2][3] It was during his reign as king that Gilgamesh met and fought a beast-man called Enkidu after which the two of them became fast friends.[1]
At some point, a time-travelling Thor (Eris Masterson) flew over Uruk while Gilgamesh was presiding over some kind of religious ceremony.[4]
