Tintagel was a civil parish and village situated on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Cornwall, England. The village and nearby Tintagel Castle were associated with the legends surrounding King Arthur and is now a popular tourist attraction.
History
5th century
Following sinking of Avalon a priest Myraddin escaped with Igraine and her daughter Morgan Le Fay changed his name to Merlin and established his druid worship in Stonehenge. He arranged for Igraine to marry Gorlois, Duke of the Tintagel, who adopted Morgan. Gorlois was later killed by Uther Pendragon, who took Igraine for queen. She birthed a son who one day would become King Arthur of Camelot.[2]
Modern Age
The Avengers followed the energy traces of the Norn Stones to Tintagel Head, off the coast of Cornwall, where Mordred and Morgan Le Fay struck their transport ship down. Morgan's power then pulled the Scarlet Witch beneath the earth, and Mordred delayed the Avengers while Morgan accessed the Scarlet Witch's power. Using this power, she took hold of the Twilight Sword, using it to restructure reality into Earth-398.[3] After defeating Morgan, all the Avengers returned to Earth-616, although most of the Vision's android body was destroyed.[4]Points of Interest
