History
After the Avengers prevented a fur robbery by the Maggia, Count Nefaria summoned a three-dimensional image of the American gang leader in the great hall of his castle, to banish him from the organization, planning to move to America and relocate his castle there.[1]
In the course of the events related to an invasion attempted by Nosferath, the Voyager - in its hunt for the demon - landed on Earth in Sicily, close to the city of Trapani, taking the dying body of a local young man as host.[2]
Years later, Iron Man followed the Death Squad to an ancient castle, where he defeated Vittorio Silvani and Count Nefaria, who was taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. forensics agent Jenna Carlisle. Later, Sicilian authorities granted immunity to Count Nefaria, and he began absorbing Therak's ionic powers to maintain his power level.[3]
