Gigantopithecus was an extinct genus of hominins. It was present in the Pre-Cataclysmic Atlantis until going extinct during the Great Cataclysm, survived only by Varnae.
History
The Gigantopithecus existed until 70,000 BC. Some of them lived in Atlantis, where one member by the name of Varnae was presumably born. Eventually, the entire Gigantopithecus race went extinct in the Great Cataclysm, though by that point Varnae had already fled from Atlantis and managed to survive thanks to his new status as the first of the vampires.[2]
