Irving Forbush lived with his Aunt Mayhem and operated as a gritty superhero Forbush Man. When Captain America went missing, the Revengers, the Fantastical Four and the X-Guys were all unable to help, forcing Forbush Man to take the matter into his own hands. He tracked down the kidnappers to a Japanese restaurant, where he gunned down an army on ninjas. Forbush Man eventually freed the Captain from Tokyo Ethel, the granddaughter of Tokyo Rose, who sought to humiliate him in order to break the spirit of America and allow Japanese investors to purchase even more of it than they already owned. Captain America was initially impressed by Forbush Man's skills, but after the latter gave Tokyo Ethel only one month of waiting tables as a punishment, realized that he was an ingrate.[1]
