History
After Silver Surfer defied his master one more time, Galactus struck him down. The Surfer fell to Earth, where his dying body was found by young Rogue, at the time still living with Aunt Carrie. She kissed him and, as her mutant powers first manifested, absorbed both Norrin's memories and powers given to him by Galactus. Using her new abilities, Rogue flew up into space and confronted "Big G" both for altering her destiny and for his lack of concern for his Heralds and his victim planets alike. Ordered to find a new planet to satiate his hunger, Rogue presented Galactus a world that Silver Surfer knew about but never dared to offer. Giant dragon-like beasts slumbering at its core attacked Galactus, but he easily swatted them away and struck at Rogue for daring to trick him.
She landed in the Watcher's Citadel in the Blue Area of the Moon, where Uatu explained to her the role Galactus played in maintaining the cosmic balance and that the best heralds could use their wit to guide his actions rather than standing in pure opposition. Unconvinced by the Watcher's words, Rogue threatened to drain the power of Galactus with a touch; he humored her by allowing it and giving her a glimpse of a universe without him: an endless emptiness with no life whatsoever. Humbled by the vision, Rogue accepted her new role as a Herald, but asked Galactus to spare two of each creature from the chosen worlds.[1]See Also
