One day, M2 and Big G approach the derelict EZ Grocery bodega -- rumored to be haunted -- on a dare. As they hesitate outside, Big G suggests they back out but M2 refuses, wanting to impress his crush Sweet Tee. As Miles walks towards the door, Big G tells him to watch out for the monster said to prowl the bodega's aisles. Referencing the Ghostbusters, M2 pries loose some of the boards blocking the doorway and slips inside.
As Miles walks through the spooky interior, wondering if he should bring back proof, a sinister figure dressed as a highwayman watches, grinning wickedly. Green and yellow ooze engulfs him, transforming him into a towering humanoid monster. Sneaking up on M2, the monster leans in and says "Boo.", causing M2 to flee in terror. Snaring him with a tendril, the monster mocks his bravado as M2 begs it not to eat him. A voice interrupts, saying that the Bodega Bandit doesn't want to hurt him, just scare him so that M2 will help spread his legend and keep people on their toes. A towering red and black armored monster emerges from the shadows, the Venomized Bodega Bandit identifying it as Carnage. Snarling that it's doing whatever it wants, Carnage impales the Venomized Bodega Bandit with two tendrils, ripping off his symbiote and absorbing it as it says that it agrees that driving fear into the hearts of others is always good. Standing over the Bodega Bandit's corpse, Carnage turns to face M2 and roars the tagline of The Fly at him. Fleeing the derelict store, M2 runs down the street. As Big G follows and asks what was in there, M2 replies that there were monsters. As he flees, M2 notes that the city is a scary place and needs a hero..[1]
