This reality diverged from Earth-616 during the events of Thor #153. Using Karnilla's magic, Loki broke the enchantment upon Mjolnir and stole it from his brother. Loki used the hammer to kill Thor, Sif, Balder, and Karnilla herself. Seeing that Odin was vulnerable, Loki called upon all of his adoptive father's enemies to attack Asgard together. The devastation was immense, and the gods of Asgard were slain, but Loki's reign was cut short. Surtur claimed that he was destined to bring forth the Ragnarok, and when Loki tried to stop him Surtur noted that only Thor was capable of doing do. Surtur killed Loki, the Midgard Serpent that wanted to end Asgard itself, and then used his Twilight Sword to destroyed all of the Nine Realms, apparently ending the reality itself.

• Prior to being given an official reality number, this universe was referred as Earth-TRN1404 as a part of our Temporary Reality Numbers classification system.
