The history of this reality diverged from Earth-17040 when several people time-traveled back into its past in a deliberate attempt to change history. Aided by Switch, David Haller approached his own father during his first encounter with Amahl Farouk and revealed to him the depth of Farouk's treachery. David planned for both of them to confront Farouk together, but instead Farouk from the future travelled back in time to join his younger self, forcing both David and Charles to deal with one of them on their own.^[1]

At the same time, Sydney Barrett, Cary Loudermilk and his sister Kerry followed David back in time and met with his mother Gabrielle. Due to the disruptions in time, Time Eaters were able to break through, and Syd and Kerry defended Gabrielle and infant David from their attacks. Eventually David and Charles were able to settle their differences with both Farouk's peacefully and Switch acknowledged to Sydney that with the past now changed, her history will change too. After saying goodbye to both his father and Farouk, David had one last interaction with Sydney before both of them faded from existence as their future was erased and the new future had set in.^[2]
