Darkmoor is a mysterious and desolate region in northern England, shrouded in myth and connected to powerful magical energies.[1]
History
Darkmoor is renowned for its ancient stone circle, a site of immense magical power that exists simultaneously on Earth[1] and in the mystical realm of Avalon, much like Stonehenge.[2] This connection to Otherworld has made Darkmoor a focal point for both legends and supernatural phenomena.[1]
The area is home to several significant landmarks, including Darkmoor Prison, where the villain Hurricane was once incarcerated,[3] and the Darkmoor Energy Research Centre.[4] Darkmoor Castle, known as the ancestral home of the diabolical Kemp family, is also situated in the area.[5] It is unclear if this is the same Darkmoor Castle formerly owned by Ranulph Haldane, the father of Dark Angel.[6]
Darkmoor’s storied history came to a tragic end when it was reportedly destroyed by the Empirikul, leaving its fate and the remnants of its magical significance uncertain.[7]Points of Interest
