WiiWare refers to various downloadable games and applications for the Wii that it can be downloaded on using the Wii Shop Channel. A few WiiWare applications were released for free, but many had to be paid for using real money, in the form of Wii Points. On January 30, 2019, the Wii Shop Channel was decommissioned, making it no longer possible to purchase WiiWare titles.
Only two Mario-related WiiWare games were released, the first being Dr. Mario Online Rx, released in 2008 at a price of 1,000 Wii Points, followed by WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, released in Japan in 2009 and in other countries in 2010 at a price of 800 Wii Points.
