Stair Scare is a Duel minigame in Mario Party Advance.
In Mario Party Advance
In Shroom City mode, Stair Scare is played against Whomp on the first floor of Duel Tower. When the player's character wins at the minigame, they can continue on to the next floor, and the minigame is unlocked for play in other modes.
Opening
Both competitors are standing on a staircase when an earthquake suddenly occurs, followed by the stairs individually falling off of the staircase behind them.
Gameplay
The object for both characters is to run up the staircase as quickly as possible as it collapses behind them. Players run by rapidly pressing 
. There is a hot air balloon at the end, and whoever reaches it first is the winner. Alternatively, a character automatically wins if they are too far ahead of their opponent.
