Nintendo Land is a party game for the Wii U, both developed and published by Nintendo. The game was released in November 2012 as a launch title bundled with several Wii U systems.
The game was received well by fans, gaining scores of 77.80% and 77% on game ranking sites. It has sold more than 2.60 million copies as of March 2013, making the second most popular selling Wii U video game, next to New Super Mario Bros. U.
Gameplay
Nintendo Land takes place in an amusement park, which itself is named Nintendo Land, and a robot named Monita guides the player through the different features and attractions. Nintendo Land is the hub location for twelve different minigames, more specifically attractions, based on various Nintendo games and franchises. Four of the attractions are Mario-related: Mario Chase, Luigi's Ghost Mansion, Yoshi's Fruit Cart, and Donkey Kong's Crash Course. There is also Octopus Dance, based on the Game & Watch game Octopus, which had been remade for the Game & Watch Gallery series.
Several of the minigames are designed to incorporate elements that make use of the Wii U GamePad's features, often in conjunction with other players using Wii Remotes and Nunchuks. At the same time, Nintendo Land is designed to demonstrate the Wii U and the Wii U GamePad. The combination of different controller schemes allows for asymmetric gameplay, where players have different experiences depending on which one they use.
Completing minigames as well as certain objectives earns the player coins, which can be used to play a single-player pachinko mini-game. Here, the player can win ? Blocks that, when opened, reveal different prizes based on objects found in the attractions. These can be used to decorate the Nintendo Land hub area. There are a total of 202 prizes to collect. Aside from this, there are also eighty stamps to collect, which are earned from clearing certain objectives in each of the attractions.

Trivia
- The games features remixes of some old Super Nintendo Entertainment System themes, which can be found in Mario Chase.
- When heading to an attraction, at the start-up screen, the player can hear tunes from previous games of the series that the attraction is based on. This music grows louder the closer the player is to an attraction.
- The credit's theme features music from various Nintendo series represented. The Overworld and Stage Clear tunes of Super Mario Bros. play near the end of the theme, and the medley finishes with title screen jingle from Super Mario Galaxy.
- Because of its pack-in status and similar minigame and multiplayer focus, many comparisons have been made between Nintendo Land and Wii Sports.
