Mean Magic is a microgame in WarioWare: Get It Together!. It is in the Fantasy folder.
Layout
Mean Magic uses a rectangular crystal room for its layout.
Gameplay
At the start of a microgame, a wizard casts a spell, and players have to dodge the magic bullets left behind by his spell. The magic bullets have similar trajectories to green Koopa Shells in the Mario Kart games, travelling straight ahead, their direction only changing whenever they touch a wall, floor, ceiling, or barrier.
With two players, if a magic bullet hits one player, the game is forfeited.
Difficulty
On the first difficulty level, the player has to dodge one magic bullet, and there is a rectangular barrier that players can use as a shield.
The second difficulty level has two magic bullets, and the room either contains a square chunk or is otherwise bare.
On the third difficulty level, two rectangular barriers appear, and two spells have to be avoided.
Suitability
18-Volt and Penny Crygor can use their attacks to repel the magic bullets (18-Volt uses his discs while Penny sprays water from her Jet Tank One.). Orbulon can use his ship's tractor beam to abduct the magic bullets. As such, they are classified as "Good Fit."
Wario, Mona, Dribble, Spitz, Mike the Karaoke Robot, Ashley, and Red are considered "Decent Fit" due to their free movement. 5-Volt is also considered decent since her teleport repels magic bullets.
Doctor Crygor (despite his free movement), Jimmy Thang, Master Mantis, Lulu, and Pyoro are considered "Neutral Fit."
Young Cricket and Kat and Ana have to time their dodges since Young Cricket doesn't jump as high as his master can and Kat and Ana constantly jump when they hit the ground; as such, all three are considered "Bad Fit."
9-Volt is considered "Abysmal Fit" since he can get hit by a magic bullet when he grabs onto a ring and his constant movement can cause him to hit a magic bullet.
Nomenclature
In Japanese, the microgame is called "Mahō Bōru," written まほうボール, with Mahō (まほう) meaning "magic" and Bōru (ボール) being a transliteration of English "ball." In French, the microgame is called "Sortilège à Ricochets" (Ricocheting Spell). The German translation calls it "Miese Magie" (Rotten Magic), with Italian calling it "Mágia Rimbalzante" (Bouncy Magic). The Korean translation gives "Mabeop Gonggyeok," which is written 마법 공격 and means "Magic Attack." The Spanish translation gives "Mágia Redonda" (Round Magic).
