In Super Mario series

Virtual Console (Nintendo 3DS) bio: Mario sets out on a grand adventure to return the Mushroom Kingdom back to its peaceful state by defeating the evil Lord Bowser and rescuing the imprisoned Princess Toadstool.

Virtual Console (Wii) bio: Mario has an average jump. When carrying an item, Mario suffers only a minor reduction to his speed and jump height.

Instruction booklet: You know him, you love him–the one and only Mario! He's returned to the Grand Prix with Fireballs in hand.
Website: What's that red and blue streak that just went zooming by? It's Mario, of course. Don't get too close, or you'll end up eating more than just his dust.
