Victor is a genius painter and one of Magnus' three Guardians of Heliseum. After his death, Victor's soul was trapped within a magical canvas until it was destroyed by the Alliance during the siege to retake Heliseum.

Story (Current)

Guardian of Heliseum

Victor was one of the three Guardians of Heliseum who served the Nova royal family alongside Treglow and Edea, with each carrying one of the three keys required to enter the throne room. Victor was a renowned painter, though his life reached a breaking point with the death of his fiancée, who passed away after falling ill.

Her death left Victor so heartbroken that he refused to see anyone else, only painting pictures obsessively. Soon enough, Magnus anonymously gave Victor a magical canvas said to bring anything painted upon it to reality. Victor earnestly drew his fiancée, though the canvas continued creating only dolls of her.

Over time, Victor felt his soul being bound to the canvas as he compulsively kept drawing upon it. Eventually, Victor took his own life in order to end his pain. Unbeknownst to the Nova, however, Victor's soul remained trapped within the magical canvas.

Siege of Heliseum

After Magnus seized control of the capital, Victor continued mindlessly painting new minions for Magnus' army, creating Red Totem Staff and Blue Totem Staff monsters to defend his workshop. During the siege of Heliseum, Edea was shocked to discover that Victor's minions still dwelled within the castle, as she had believed that her old colleague had passed away.

After the Alliance destroyed the magical canvas containing Victor's soul, Edea recovered both Victor's key and his diary, which allowed her to learn that his death had actually been from suicide, as well as the fact that he had been turned into Magnus' puppet, leaving her shaken about the fates of her fellow Guardians.

Story (Old, Pre-Heliseum Revamp 2023)

Guardian of Heliseum

Victor was one of the three Guardians of Heliseum who served the Nova royal family alongside Treglow and Edea, with each carrying one of the three seals required to enter the throne room. Victor was a renowned painter, whose work had a huge influence on the Nova people. He came from a long line of artists, and his father, who was said to have seen works from other dimensions, had named his son ‘Victor' in the hope that the line would continue. However, Victor eventually fell in love with a dead woman and painted his masterpiece in her image.

Learning of a magical canvas that could bring art to reality, he spent his life attempting to find it. Knowing that Victor would easily fall under his influence if he obtained it, Magnus asked Darmoor to find the canvas. He then used it in order to bait Victor into becoming his servant. However, Darmoor cursed the canvas, such that when Victor painted the woman, it spat out a doll in her form and trapped Victor's soul inside the painting, leaving his body as a puppet for Magnus, after which Victor was forced to paint minions on the cursed canvas that brought them to life.

Siege of Heliseum

After Magnus seized control of the capital, Victor stayed on as a Guardian of Heliseum alongside Treglow. Forced to create minions for Magnus, Victor created Red Totem Staff and Blue Totem Staff monsters to defend his workshop. In order to prevent others from entering, Victor mixed together the three primary colors in order to create a transparent light, which he used to make the staircase to his workshop disappear.

During the siege of Heliseum, the Alliance sent its forces to defeat Victor's forces while pushing into his workshop. By extracting the Creation Essence from the monsters, Edea crafted a Distorted Light Essence, allowing the Alliance to climb the staircase and defeat Victor, thereby obtaining one of the three seals to the throne room.

Trivia

  • The story of Victor is very similar to the story of the Brushogun from Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo. They were both painters who wanted to bring a painting of the woman they loved to life, they both ended up being corrupted by doing this (Victor was absorbed by the canvas which he used to paint the woman to bring her to life, the Brushogun was corrupted when using Japanese dark magic to bring the woman to life), and they both end up creating minions for a higher-up (Victor creates Totems Staves for Magnus, the Brushogun creates ink minions for Commander Daizo to fight so he can be worshipped as a hero).
