Worry Gate

Worry Gate, was the East gate of the city wall of Darujhistan. The gate led out from the Estate District onto Jatem's Worry. Outside the gate's huge doors^[1] was Worrytown, sprawling to either side of the wall and along the road. The Gate was overlooked from K'rul's Belfry.^[2][3]

East Gate remained open during daylight hours.^[4]

In Gardens of the Moon

Crokus Younghand left the Estate district through East Gate. He witnessed the first wagonloads of refugees from Pale coming through the Gate.^[5]

Rallick Nom was informed that an attempt on his friend Coll's life was imminent. He deducted that the most likely place for it would be at the East Gate as Coll reentered the city.^[6]

Paran accompanied the injured Coll through Worry Gate sometime after the flood of refugees from Pale had come through. One of the two guards at the gate recognised Coll and organised help to get him to the Phoenix Inn. From the gate, Paran saw something glint on the belfry - unbeknown to him, the movement had been caused by Rallick fighting the assassin Ocelot.^[7]

Circle Breaker was standing guard at the gate, on the look-out for someone on behalf of The Eel. He reminisced with the second guard about a riot which had taken place near the gate a couple of years earlier.^[8]

In Memories of Ice

Gruntle first met his employer Keruli outside the gate.^[9]

In Toll the Hounds

Gruntle brought the remains of Sirik's caravan through the gate into Darujhistan.^[10]

Anomander Rake flew from Black Coral to Darujhistan in his Soletaken form, alighting on the trader road outside the city before walking the rest of the way through Worrytown. As he approached the barred and seemingly unmanned gate, something snapped and fell away, allowing the doors to swing wide open.^[1]
