The hills of Arifal on Seven Cities began about a mile inland of Ehrlitan and ran thirty-six leagues south to the Eb River.[1] The jagged, serrated hills were home to the Gral tribe, which drove its goats deep into the range for shade and water during the summer season.[1] The caravan route between Ehrlitan and G'danisban followed the western edge of the hills.[1]

Fiddler, Crokus Younghand, and Apsalar used the caravan road to travel from Ehrlitan to G'danisban. Fiddler eyed the hills of Arifal and worried over the possibility of encountering the Gral.[1]
