Season 1 is the first season of reboot series Magnum P.I.  It was announced on May 11, 2018 and was premiered on September 24, 2018 and concluded on April 1, 2019. There are 20 episodes.

On October 19, 2018, CBS ordered more episodes, bringing Season 1 to a full 20-episode season.

On January 31, 2019, CBS gave Magnum P.I. an early renewal along with two other series.

Suspicious of Magnum’s casual attitude and presence at his crime scenes, Detective Gordon Katsumoto finds that he and Magnum are more alike than either of them care to admit. With keys to a vintage Ferrari in one hand, aviator sunglasses in the other, and an Old Düsseldorf longneck chilling in the fridge, Thomas Magnum is back on the case!

Magnum is hired by millionaire businessman Jack Candler to check the security of his art collection. That night, Candler is killed by art robbers that used the same access route Magnum did, which means it was someone who had access to his security report. Magnum's main suspect ends up dead. Katsumoto gets a search order for Robins's Nest and arrests Magnum as the prime suspect in the case after getting an anonymous tip, but lets him go. Higgins discovers the main suspect was in contact with an art forger, but he has also been killed. A rare pigment found in the study leads Magnum to the art appraiser and one of Candler's collaborators, allowing him to resolve the case.

The boy's father, Hani, has been arrested for killing a medical doctor but, though he claims innocence, is not telling them the full truth. Magnum leaves the boy in Higgins' care while he investigates, but the evidence against Hani is mounting. It's only after Magnum gets Hani to tell him he was using the steroids the doctor was trafficking with that he's able to discover the true killer.
