The Torch is a weapon in MadWorld.
Description
A very simple weapon, the Torch consists only of a piece of wood of which one end is wrapped in a flammable cloth. This cloth will automatically be ignited once Jack equips it, and extinguished once Jack stows it away.
Involvement in the Jefferson Island DeathWatch games
This weapon can be considered the signature weapon of the Mad Castle area. It is found in all three levels of the Mad Castle, and exclusively so.
- In the Courtyard a Torch is found inside a Mayhem Dispenser after Jack scored 1,800,000 points.
- In the same level, a Torch can be found inside a decorative armor close to the aforementioned Mayhem Dispenser.
- The third Torch in the Courtyard is awarded after killing Death Blade for the third time.
- The Torch in the Dungeon is found on the highest point of the area, only reachable via two zip lines. Jack needs to hook a zombie beneath a pulley, so its weight will pull up a basket with the torch inside.
- The Torch in the Sanctuary is found in a crate in the back of the room. It's to the right side of the altar.

Not very durable, its main purpose is to incinerate Grunt Enemies, which incapacitates and slowly kills them. The incineration is worth 10,000 points, but Jack should properly finish the enemies, as letting them burn to death doesn't yield the additional 10,000 points that are normally awarded for kills.
Attacks
Most attacks of the Torch are identical to the Spiked Bat or the Golf Club, except for one.
- A button: Hits enemies up to three times in a combo.
- B button + swinging the Wiimote: Jack uses the Torch to breathe fire in a wide area in front of him. This is the unique attack with the Torch.
- Swinging the Wiimote: Jack holds the Torch like a baseball bat and then swings it.
- A button (in midair): With both hands, Jack smashes the torch on the ground, along with the Grunt Enemies he hits.
- A button (after dodging): Jack dashes forward while swinging the Torch thrice, throwing Grunt Enemies off their feet.
Each hit with the Torch is worth 2,000 points. Additionally, if an enemy that is not currently burning is hit with the Torch, he will be incinerated for the aforementioned 10,000 points.
Trivia
- It's appearance in Mad Castle, a classical horror themed level, might be a reference to the stereotypical angry mobs wielding pitchforks and torches that are associated with those stories.
