- Manwë ordains a great feast on Almaren after the Valar's many labours. Tulkas weds Oromë's sister Nessa.[1][2]
- In secret, Melkor returns to Arda through the Door of Night and raises the Iron Mountains in the far north of Middle-earth, delving Utumno, his first fortress. His evil partially marres the Spring of Arda, but it is unseen to the Valar.[1][2]
