
Events
- Second Union of Elves and Men occurs, when Tuor weds Idril in Gondolin.[1][2]
- Húrin comes to Nargothrond and slays Mîm the petty-dwarf in revenge for Túrin's death. He and his men carry off the treasure of Glaurung, and bring it to Doriath.[3][4]
- Húrin is admitted in Thingol's pity, but casts the Nauglamír at king's feet in anger and "thanks" him for helping his family. Melian speaks up and releases Húrin from Morgoth's curse. Perceiving the Dark Lord's lies, he leaves Menegroth and casts himself into the Sea after all his wanderings.[3][4]
- King Thingol commissions the Dwarves to embed the Silmaril in the Nauglamír.[1][4]
