Tol Morwen was the westernmost of the Western Isles, located off the coast of Lindon after the drowning of Beleriand at the end of the First Age.[1]
History
One of the few locations in Beleriand which was not drowned, it was the site of the Stone of the Hapless and the grave of Morwen Eledhwen, hence its name. Mariners of Númenor and later Arnor visited it on their voyages to pay respect to the hero Túrin Turambar buried there.[2]
Etymology
Tol Morwen is Sindarin for 'Island of Morwen'.[3]
