Royd Tolkien (b. July 16, 1969) is the great-grandson of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. He portrayed a Ranger of Gondor named Golasgil in an uncredited role in Peter Jackson's The Return of the King, where he is seen handing out weapons to the other soldiers before the orcs' assault on Osgiliath. It is unknown whether his character was killed in the subsequent attack led by Gothmog.
He also portrayed a Ranger Captain in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Special Extended Edition. His character and a few men buried the Witch-king in the High Fells of Rhudaur as seen in a flashback while Galadriel spoke at The White Council.
