The Quenta Noldorinwa was the second version of J.R.R. Tolkien's Quenta Silmarillion—the eventual third part of The Silmarillion.
Written in 1930, The Quenta Noldorinwa—with a few tweaks by Tolkien's son, Christopher—became the third part of Tolkien's posthumous 1977 novel release, The Silmarillion.
Etymology
Quenta Noldorinwa is Anglo-Saxon in origin. Quenta ("story, narrative, account, history") combined with Noldorinwa ("of the Noldo; the Noldor language") can roughly be translated to "The History of the Ñoldor".[1]
