Faniel was a Ñoldorin Elf-maiden in earlier versions of J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. She was the third daughter of Finwë, the High King of the Ñoldor and Indis; sister of Fingolfin, Finarfin, Findis and Írimë and half-sister of Fëanor.

History

Faniel was born during the Noontide of Valinor, probably in Tirion. Faniel apparently continued to dwell in Aman and did not join the Rebellion of the Ñoldor.[1][2]

Etymology

Perhaps, Faniel means "white daughter" in Quenya.
