Eilenach was one of the seven Beacon-hills of Gondor, and the second from Minas Tirith to be lit.
Description and history
It was a high summit peak above Drúadan Forest, and the sole purpose of its beacon was to relay the fire from Amon Dîn to Nardol. Due to the sharpness of the peak, it was incapable of sustaining a large fire but nonetheless fulfilled its purpose.[1]
Shortly before the onset of the Siege of Gondor, the beacon upon Eilenach was, along with the other Beacon-hills, lit to signal Rohan for aid.[2]
