Anar was a character in J.R.R. Tolkien's early drafts of The Lord of the Rings in the 1940s.
Along with his fellow dwarves Burin (son of Balin), Hannar, Lofar, and Nar, he accompanied Bilbo Baggins from Bag End.[1][2]
