Jack's future wife, Sarah, and Shannon's father, Adam Rutherford (pictured to the left), were in a car accident a few years prior to the crash. The accident also killed Shannon's father, which left Shannon completely broke and alone, as her step-mother, Sabrina (Boone's mother), cut her off monetarily. ("Abandoned")

Minor occurrences
- Clifford Widmore's mother died in a "solo car crash after a party at the country club." Cliff attributed the incident to his mother being drunk at the time, and that she was pre-occupied thinking about her husband, Arthur Widmore, who was having an affair at the time. (Bad Twin)
- Hugh McIntyre and Darla Taft were both killed in a car accident, although its accidental state was called into question by Rachel Blake. (TLE)
- Martha Toomey lost her leg in a car accident. ("Numbers")
- While not an actual collision, Rose's automobile became stuck in the snow. ("S.O.S.")
Trivia
- Kate's accident ("Born to Run"), Michael's ("Special"), and Locke's ("Deus Ex Machina") were all caused by a Golden Pontiac, although Damon Lindelof confirmed that it was simply a reused prop. [1]
