A Selkie is a Shapeshifter Fae which can change between a human and a seal body. While in their seal form, they can live fully underwater. In their human form, they can only return to the ocean if they put on their pelts (which they shed upon transitioning into their human form).
Character Arc
Selkies transform from seal to human, and shed their pelts when they take human form. The pelt is necessary to transform back into a seal.
Donna, her daughter Sheri, and the other dancers at the Naughty Ladies Gentleman's Club are selkies.
Selkies also possess an ability to seduce humans through their movement. Selkies are agile and naturally skilled dancers, with Sheri and her sisters being particularly adept at gyration and pole-dancing. This causes arousal in both men and women, regardless of sexual orientation.

Selkies (also known as silkies or selchies) are mythological creatures that are found in Faroese, Icelandic, Irish, and Scottish folklore. They can shed their skin from seals to become humans. The legend apparently originated on the Orkney and Shetland Islands, where selch or selk(ie) is the Scots word for seal.[1]
