Function
The Bouncy Spore is a spell that is obtained after defeating The Big Germ boss found in Color Caverns. It is a small projectile that is thrown in an arch and explodes upon hitting the ground. Some enemies will be attracted to the spore.
Properties
- Using the Bouncy Spore will spawn a small projectile that is thrown in an upwards arc and explodes upon hitting the ground.
- Holding down while casting the spell will throw the spore downwards at a slight angle.
- Throwing the spore downwards will cause it to explode either by hitting it or after traveling for enough time. The explosion will have different properties depending on which criteria is met.
- The size of the explosion is slightly bigger if thrown downwards while standing on the ground, as opposed to the spore hitting the ground while being cast in the air.
- If down is not held while using the spell, the spore will be thrown upwards from the top of Greencap's cap and will move forward.
- The spell will explode if it's hit by Greencap using a variety of abilities, if it hits a surface, or if it hits an enemy. If the spell explodes from hitting an surface or an enemy, it will deal 32 damage.
- Unlike most spells, Bouncy Spore is affected by gravity.
- Some enemies will be attracted to the spore.
Synergies
- Nothing - The spore exploding by hitting the ground or an enemy causes it to explode into a spore cloud that deals 32 damage.
- Slash - Hitting an airborne spore will cause it to explode with a bigger and more damaging explosion that deals 57 damage.
- Pogo - Hitting a spore with a down slash will cause it to split into 3 smaller projectiles downward, which deal 28 damage each.
- Parry - Parrying a spore will cause it to split into 3 smaller projectiles diagonally up (at an angle of 0º, 45º and 90º respectively). They deal 28 damage each.
- Spin Slash - Hitting a spore with a Spin Slash will cause it to spawn a larger spinning projectile that persists for about 3 or so seconds that deals 28 damage each tick.
- Great Slash - Hitting a spore with a Great Slash will cause a large explosion that deals 57 damage, followed by spawning 4 smaller projectiles on each side that drift upwards for around 1 second. They deal 28 damage each.
- Great Spin-Slash - Hitting a spore with a Great Spin-Slash will cause a large spinning projectile to spawn surrounding Greencap. It persists for around 2 seconds or disappears if Greencap touches the ground and it deals 28 damage each tick.
- Meteor Strike - Hitting a spore with a Meteor Strike will cause a large spinning projectile that persists for about 3 or so seconds that deals 28 damage each tick and 8 smaller projectiles on each side that deal 28 damage each.
