During the wet season, Sokwe intended to renew his peace treaty with Simba, the king of the Pride Lands. His sons, Hafifu and Majinuni, were intent on impressing their father, so they volunteered to take the message to Simba.
The two eventually returned to the Theluji Mountains, where they admitted to Sokwe that they had forgotten the message. Though Sokwe initially appeared to be displeased, he suddenly threw snow over his sons' heads and exclaimed, "Kuishi ni kucheka!" He then complimented the two on their bravery and explained that Kion had told him the story of how they had saved his life. He claimed that this made them true gorilla princes.

Kion interjected and asked what Sokwe's message to Simba was, but Sokwe instead focused on the snowball that Bunga had collected for his adoptive uncle, Timon. Kion wondered if the souvenir was a problem, and Sokwe replied that the snowball was perfect.
When the Lion Guard returned to the Pride Lands, they reported to Simba at Pride Rock. Simba prompted the Lion Guard to relate Sokwe's message, to which Kion said, "Kuishi ni kucheka," as Bunga threw a snowball over Simba's head. Instead of being angry, Simba laughed and commented that no one delivered a peace message quite like King Sokwe.[1]
Sending Shujaa to the Pride Lands
Sokwe sent Shujaa to the Pride Lands to assist the Lion Guard in their battle against Scar. However, Shujaa's immense strength was initially more harm than help. After successfully helping the Lion Guard, Shujaa resolved to return home and show Sokwe his newfound ability to use his brain in addition to his strength.[2]
Kion's coronation
Sokwe attended Kion and Rani's wedding at the Tree of Life.[3]
