History
Sumu's attack on Simba
“ | ” |
Scar recruited a scorpion named Sumu to sting Simba as part of his plan to overtake the Pride Lands. When Sumu first appeared in the volcano, Janja was afraid of him and knocked into Kiburi and Reirei in an effort to avoid his venom. Scar informed his allies that Sumu would take down Simba, then sent him off on his mission.

Sumu climbed Pride Rock while the Pride Landers honored the Kumbuka celebration. During the event, he stung Simba on the tail, which caused him to collapse. Though Sumu attempted to flee the Pride Lands, Ono spotted him and suspected him of being the cause of Simba's ailment. The Lion Guard chased Sumu across the savanna, but he managed to escape down a hole. Ono investigated from above and saw him enter the Outlands from the other end of the tunnel.
His mission a success, Sumu returned to the volcano, and Scar praised him for his work. Scar then commanded Ushari to prepare for the Lion Guard, as he believed they would come to the volcano for ash, the only cure for Simba's ailment. Confused, Sumu asked why Scar would want the Lion Guard to come to the volcano, and Scar answered that they were setting a trap.[1]
