Sasem is a female shrew.
When Beshte inadvertently caused a tidal wave in Sasem and Tsah's pond, the shrews believed that he was a menace and so reported on him to Baliyo. However, after Beshte saved Pinguino's life, the penguin cleared his name, and Sasem joined a crowd of animals in cheering for him.
Biography
Early life
Sasem lived in a marshy region of the Tree of Life's territory.[1]

Sasem and her friend, Tsah, overheard Beshte singing and decided to investigate. However, as they ran across the surface of the water, Beshte stepped into the pond to get a closer look at them and accidentally caused a tidal wave that bowled them over. Beshte laughed at them, then left, which led the shrews to believe that he had made the wave on purpose.
Several animals who were victims of Beshte's mistakes, including Sasem, ran into one another and resolved to report the incidents to the Night Pride. Pinguino mistakenly called Beshte "Poa the Destroyer" after the hippopotamus' catchphrase. The animals promptly reported on Beshte to Baliyo and described him as a monster that was as tall as the Tree of Life and on a path of destruction.
Later, when Beshte approached the shrews' pond, Sasem and Tsah hid from him.
Eventually, the Night Pride worked with the Lion Guard to clear Beshte's name. They gathered Sasem and her fellows at the Tree of Life and tried to convince them that Beshte was friendly. Just then, Pinguino arrived and told the crowd that Beshte had saved his life. This effectively cleared the hippopotamus' name and inspired the animals to cheer for him.[1]
Janna's death
Sasem waited outside the Tree of Life as Janna lay dying. When Makini announced Janna's passing to the crowd, Sasem reacted with sadness. Later, she attended Rani's coronation.[2]
Kion's coronation
Sasem attended Kion and Rani's wedding.[3]
Physical appearance
Sasem is a small shrew. She has medium brown fur, with a cream underbelly, dark brown ears and paws, and a pink nose. Her eyes are brown.[1]
Personality and traits
Sasem is friendly and curious. However, she is somewhat skittish and quick to judge, as she assumed the worst of Beshte when he made waves in her pond.[1]
