While wandering the Tree of Life's territory in search of new animals, Beshte met Tangaagim. Upon learning about Beshte's struggles to walk in the snow, Tangaagim advised him to keep his body low to the ground and tread heavily. Beshte asked where he might find interesting animals, and Tangaagim suggested that he watch the penguins use their ice slide.

Later, Pinguino told Tangaagim that Beshte was a menace, which confused and shocked him. As a result, when Beshte approached Tangaagim, he fled in fear.
Shortly afterwards, the Night Pride gathered some of the Tree of Life's locals to meet Beshte. Once the animals had been gathered at the Tree of Life, the Lion Guard explained that Beshte was not a menace, but rather a very kind individual. At that moment, Beshte approached with Pinguino riding on his back, and Pinguino explained that Beshte had saved his life. Their faith in Beshte restored, the gathered animals started up a chant of "Poa!" for him.[1]
Janna's death and Rani's coronation
As Queen Janna lay dying, Tangaagim and a fellow polar bear waited outside the Tree of Life for news. Eventually, Makini announced the queen's death to the crowd, and they reacted with sorrow. Tangaagim and his fellow polar bear attended Janna's funeral at the Willows, as well as Rani's coronation at the Tree of Life.[2]
Battle for the Tree of Life
When Makucha and his army invaded the Tree of Life, they attacked several residents, including Tangaagim. Before any animal could be harmed, Kion defeated the invaders with the Roar of the Elders.[3]
Kion's coronation
Tangaagim and a fellow polar bear attended Kion's wedding to Rani at the Tree of Life.[4]
